The Festival of “La Candelera” in l’Ametlla de Mar, Catalonia, is celebrated on February 2 in honour of the Mare de Déu de la Candelera. Although the festival has lost some of its religious meaning, devotion to the patron saint is maintained, highlighting the Procession with lit candles that runs through the streets of the town.
